I've posted this before, but that doesn't make it any less interesting and insightful. (Or any less full of swears.)
And it's been two and a half years since I last posted it, so...
(Pretty sure my sister didn't read it when I posted it last time even though 90% of the reason I posted it is because I thought she'd find it interesting. Hint, hint.)

Once Again Remarking On My Own Weird Browsing Habits
I was trying to decide which of two things I'd rather blog about tonight, and realized, "Hey, this is a pretty odd pair of choices, and probably marginally more interesting than what I'd have to say on either alone."
1. One of these things is not bad if you were the one setting up for it. One of these things is not a bad thing that could happen because I seriously doubt it could happen.
2. Isn't it funny that a character known for not being especially bright and for his brute strength has what amounts to the thinking man's skillset?
I think it's interesting, anyway.

Some Megaman-Related Thing
This guy swears a lot (I mean, a lot), but he makes good and interesting points. (And I say this as someone who really stinks at the games he's talking about.)
An additional point that I'd add to his complaints about written instructions in games is that sometimes written instructions are incredibly unclear and the only way to figure things out is to just do stuff for yourself.

Another Megaman Thing Where Met(taur [the little helmet guy]) Shows Off
You may have seen this video.
Well, the little helmet dude can take punishment from more than just Megaman. (Note that these videos are based on a totally different series of Megaman games than the other video.)
That boss, Falzar, is considered somewhat weaker-in fact, there are videos of it getting thrashed by another boss. Which boss? Gregar, which the little helmet dude takes on in this video.
And now you know... that little helmet guys can apparently kick most guys around pretty badly.
(And yes, obviously I know they're not called "little helmet guys." Frankly, I don't give a care.)

Mega Man vs. Met (That Little Helmet Guy)
I could have sworn I posted the earlier version of this, but can't seem to find where I did it...
Whatever.
Joe Rovang (i.e. the poster, whose user name on YouTube is Rofang) is a genius. Or at least pretty brilliant.

Game Reviews: Megaman X RPG
As I've stated in the past, I'm not a huge Megaman fan. But this game's pretty fun.
Admittedly, an Internet fan game that stole sprites from a major company doesn't inspire confidence, but this game is a fast-paced blast.
It's a pretty simple clock/turn-based RPG, but what makes it fun is that you can just fly through the turns. You need to exercise a little restraint and strategic thinking against bosses, but against normal enemies, all you need to do is hit the space bar or "A" repeatedly, until such time as the battle is over-which should be mere seconds.
The real virtue of the game, though, is that it has a beautiful and original interface/menu design. It's seriously one of the prettiest computer games I've ever seen, and that includes professional games. (Too bad about all the stupid typos, though. "Poisen," for instance.)
It's quite brief, but it's still worth a look and a few hours of level grinding just for the chance to beat the bonus boss. (I haven't yet. Gark.)

Can't Defeat Airman?
Not really a fan of the Mega Man games, but I found this absolutely hilarious, partly because it brings across how frustrating video games can be.
If you're wondering what in the world the guy is singing about (and have never played Mega Man 2, in which case, I am led to believe, you'll understand instantly), you could probably look it up (Googling "can't defeat Air Man/Airman" will get you about a bazillion hits), but the gist of it is that he wants an item that will let him cross a lava area that's nearly impossible to get through; unfortunately, the item is guarded by Air Man. He can't beat Air Man. He tries to beat Wood Man, because if he beats Wood Man, he can use Wood Man's weapon to beat Air Man. But he can't beat Wood Man either. How to defeat Wood Man? Get past the lava area that he can't cross to defeat Heat Man, who has the weapon Wood Man's weak to.
Yes, really. That's how the actual game apparently works.
